He’s been a highlight reel for the London Knights in the OHL and he’s the catalyst for excitement to the Toronto Maple Leafs and their fans. And on Thursday, the Leafs’ prospect was at it again against the OHL’s Erie Otters.

2015 NHL Draft: Philadelphia Flyers Select Travis Konecny

In the continued first-round THW coverage of the 2015 NHL Draft, the Philadelphia Flyers scored the 24th overall pick where they took Travis Konecny. The Flyers traded up five spots to draft the Ottawa 67s player acquiring the 24th pick from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Nick Ritchie: A Typical Maple Leaf

Big, burly and a skilled power forward – these are some of the words that were used to describe Peterborough Petes forward Nick Ritchie prior to the 2014 NHL Entry Draft. They’re also words that fit into Brian Burke’s ‘plan’ when he was at the helm with the Toronto Maple Leafs building what he expected to be a contender.

For the past few years, that’s exactly how the Leafs drafted their players. All the more reason why Ritchie would’ve fit in as a Leafs. As the story goes, Ritchie was drafted elsewhere and the Leafs drafted William Nylander. But I analyzed, anyways, why Ritchie would’ve been a typical Maple Leafs’ pick.  Read more of this post

Athanasiou: The Red Wings’ Newest Young Gun

A former London Knight – a current Barrie Colt – Andreas Athanasiou signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Detroit Red Wings.
