Growing up watching an NHL team is one thing. Having the chance to sign with that same team is a dream come true – or at least it’s supposed to be. David Clarkson had that opportunity prior to the 2013-14 season when the Toronto Maple Leafs signed the forward to a hefty contract – one that many believed was too rich.
