Arguably one of my best interviews, I had a chance to talk to Toronto Maple Leafs’ legend Darryl Sittler leading up to the 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic at Michigan Stadium. Besides talking to him about his career as a professional hockey player, we chatted about the upcoming outdoor game and what it meant to the game of hockey. 

He told me just how important he felt it was to have these outdoor games. He said it made the game marketable – that fans wanted to be part of something new, something different. The Winter Classic is just that – a nostalgic way to celebrate the long history of hockey.
