Here’s a look ahead at the week that is for the Detroit Red Wings. After an early week loss to the San Jose Sharks in which both goalies – Antti Niemi and Jimmy Howard – recorded shutouts. The Sharks defeated the Wings in a shootout 1-0.

Possibly the best game of the week for the Red Wings will be when the Senators come into town. It’s the first meeting of the newly appointed division foes. It’s the first time Daniel Alfredsson will take on his former franchise.

Finally, the Wings will close out the week with a game against the depleted New York Rangers. Henrik Lundqvist, Ryan Callahan, and Rick Nash have all been out of the lineup lately.

But here’s a deeper look into the matchups this week for the red and white.
